1955 Double Die Lincoln Cents
The 1955 Double Die Lincoln Cent is one of the most mint errors of all time. At the time the error was produced, not many people were accustomed to paying close attention to their coins. The 1955 Double Die changed this to some extent. The error was significant and visible without magnification.The doubling is prominent on the date and all of the lettering on the obverse of the coin. An estimated 24,000 of the error were produced. The coin is highly sought after by collectors and often considered a key date coin.
